A community bank in every sense of the word.
Unlike many “big box banks,” we’re not headquartered in another state or overseas — our central office is right here in Maine. And because all ten of our current branches are in the towns that our employees also call home, we’re deeply invested in supporting the local businesses and civic organizations that help our communities thrive and prepare the next generation for success.

To that end, we make a promise to our customers to continue investing in a shared future. We have a fundamental responsibility as a mutual bank to invest in our communities. We invest in local businesses through loans and advisory services. We invest in neighborhoods through mortgages and lines of credit. We invest in new products, services, and technology that our customers need. We also invest in the future of our community directly through philanthropy by providing funding to nonprofit organizations that make our communities stronger.
As a local community bank, we are committed to being a vital part of the communities we serve. As part of our commitment to our communities, the Maine Community Bank board of directors has established the Biddeford and Mechanics Savings Charitable Foundation. The Foundation’s mission is to help individuals and families in the bank’s local communities meet their basic needs and achieve financial empowerment. In support of this long-term mission, the Foundation concentrates on the goals of providing support to families and individuals in our communities through health, housing, and hunger, as well as helping the next generation overcome issues of inequality and build unity across lines of differences in our communities. The Biddeford and Mechanics Savings Charitable Foundation was created in July of 2020 and is structured to give back to the communities in a larger, more enduring way.
Helping to provide a safe haven for Maine's youth.
To help keep young people safe and on a path to success, The Biddeford and Mechanics Savings Charitable Foundation recently delivered a donation of $10,000 to My Place Teen Center, an after-school program where kids receive help, love, food, and programming that addresses their unique needs. “We believe in building stronger communities by investing in our youth and therefore, we want to support their success any way we can. This generation is our future – these kids will be our employees, our customers, and our partners one day,” says Jeanne Hulit, President and CEO of Maine Community Bank. Biddeford Savings and Mechanics Savings are committed to creating a bright future for the next generation. We have a long history of giving back to organizations that strengthen our communities because we know that when we build up those around us, amazing things can happen.

In an unprecedented time of need, the Biddeford and Mechanics Savings Charitable Foundation continues to pledge funds, hold food drives, and volunteer time, to assist food insecure and homeless children and adults in Maine. “It is difficult to believe the enormity of the hunger and homelessness issues in southern Maine,” said Jeanne Hulit, CEO and President of Maine Community Bank, the parent company of the Foundation. “This is something happening right in the communities we serve and is something we cannot turn a blind eye to. Through our Foundation, we are finding specific ways to help.” We know that the battle against food insecurity is a long-term one, and we are committed to continuing to support the organizations on the front lines.

In response to the rising cost of home heating oil, the Biddeford and Mechanics Savings Charitable Foundation recently donated $25,000 to support the Keep ME Warm Fund, providing direct and immediate home heating assistance to financially vulnerable Mainers. “Making a contribution to the Keep ME Warm program will allow us to help our neighbors when Mainers need it most – during the winter months. No one should have to choose between paying for heat and other essentials like electricity and food. Our hope is that we can make the lives of individuals and families in the communities we serve a little easier this year,” says Jeanne Hulit, President and CEO of Maine Community Bank.
